On Monday, January 27th the One-Act cast and crew took on regions in Madison. Congratulations on an exceptional performance! The following thespians received acting awards: Brenen Brandenburg, Lily Montgomery, Alina Bertelson, Lola Conn, Amelia Remacle, and Abigail Keller.
NOTICE OF VACANCIES ON SCHOOL BOARD
CANISTOTA SCHOOL DISTRICT #43-1
Pursuant to the provisions of SDCL 13-7-5 and 5.02:04:14, notice is hereby given that the following school board positions will become vacant due to the expiration of the present terms of office of the following school board members:
One (3) year term for a school board member residing anywhere within the school district to fill the position presently held by John Remacle.
One (3) year term for a school board member residing anywhere within the school district to fill the position presently held by Angie Scott.
One (3) year term for a school board member residing anywhere within the school district to fill the position presently held by Cory Spicer.
Circulation of nominating petitions may begin on January 31, 2025 and petitions may be filed in the office of the business manager located at the Canistota Public School between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. central time not later than February 28, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. central time.

The kids enjoyed looking for Dasher in the lunch room these last few days! Dasher and Grinch enjoyed pranking each other, but got along for the most part. They will be back next year! We hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
The Give a Gift program is missing a few gifts that didn't make it to the bank. We are missing card numbers 1, 20, 21, 28, 32. If you have one of these cards, and the gift please bring it to the school NO LATER than 3:30 tomorrow, Tuesday December 17th. Any unreturned gifts will be purchased tomorrow after school. Science in 5th grade was ELECTRIFYING! Southeastern Electric Cooperative came to present about electricity, electricity safety, conductors, insulators and forms of electricity. The 5th graders also got to do some fun experiments!
