Hello, and welcome to the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year! It is so hard to believe that the summer is ending, and we are about to embark on another academic journey together. Teachers and staff have been busy getting ready for everyone to be back in the building. Before we start classes, we invite all of you to our open house!
Canistota 2023-2024 Open House
Tuesday, August 15th
5-7:30 pm
Come into door J (gym door). All other doors will be locked.
In the commons, stop by and talk to Lori and Jamie about your packets and make any payments (lunch, band rental, and computer insurance), meet the new counselor, and talk to Mr. Blide about infinite campus access or questions.
Kindergarten students- The PTO will have a table where they are doing a Kindergarten signing and will take your picture!
Elementary students- Once you are done in the commons, please go to your classroom to drop off your school supplies & backpacks for this school year and say hello to your teacher. They are super excited to see you!
Middle School/High School students- Mr. Olson will have your schedules printed. Please pick them up from him in the commons. You will get your schedule on the first day of school if you cannot attend the open house. If you have questions about dual credit, you will meet with Mrs. Keogh, our new counselor.
We cannot wait to have you all back in our hallways, classrooms, and lunchroom. A reminder that the first day of school, Thursday, August 17th, is an early dismissal day, and we will dismiss at 1:00! SEE YOU ALL THEN!!!

At the July 10, 2023 school board meeting, the board decided to open the doors to ALL Canistota Hawk fans for sporting events. That means you will not be asked to purchase activity passes! As a school district, we really want to embrace the idea of an open-door, welcoming space, and that now includes not turning our fans away. *Opposing teams will still be asked to pay an entrance fee.

The make up day for impact testing will be on Wednesday, July 26th at 10:00 a.m.

The SDHSAA Summer Moratorium this year is from July 1-July 7. The weight room, both gyms and the multi-purpose room will be closed to everyone.
