February 15th through the 22nd is National FFA Week! The National FFA Organization is considered to being the oldest Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), beginning its legacy in 1928. The organization was originally called the Future Farmers of America. The organization was started with a group of farmers who met in a meeting room in Kansas City, Missouri as a way to help prepare young leaders for a career in Agriculture. In 1988 the name was changed to the National FFA Organization as a way to not only recognize those involved in production Agriculture, but every career that has a connection with Ag. I'm proud to say that today there are over 1,027,200 members and FFA continues to find ways to inspire students and acts on the mission statement "To make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premiere leadership, personal growth, and career success through Agricultural Education."
