£      Understanding and efficiently use the components of the Word application window, menu bars, toolbars, formatting toolbar, ruler and status bar

£      Use the Office Assistant

£      Open, create, view, save and close documents

£      Edit documents

£      Move, copy, format, find and replace Text

£      Format paragraphs

£      Format and proof documents

£      Use templates and wizards

£      Create tables

£      Use graphic elements

£      Preview and print documents

 

Required Products:

£      Create a word document that includes all components of the Unit Cover Page.

£      Work with slides in different views

£      Create and save presentations

£      Edit and format slides

£      Apply word editing and formatting skills to slide text and graphics

£      Add sound, animation, timing, and transitions to slides

£      Use proofing and drawing tools

£      Insert hyperlinks

£      Use presentation options to run slide shows

£      Print presentation handouts

£      Save to the World Wide Web

 

Required Products:

£      Create a PowerPoint document that relates to your Unit of Study and/or to your ASCD On-line PD Course.

£      Access and participate in WebCT discussion group

£      Apply strategies for identifying and solving routine hardware and software problems during everyday use

£      Identify which component or software issue is causing the problem and articulate this information to support personal

£      Operate and care for computer related hardware peripherals, including:

o       Scanners

o       Printers

o       Projection devices

o       Digital cameras

o       CD Burner

WWW NAVIGATION & SITE EVALUATION

 

Participants will engage in activities that support their ability to:

£      Select and use electronic search tools including appropriate use of search delimiters and Boolean logic to retrieve information

£      Choose WWW resources that are relevant, effective, aligned with lesson content, and add value to student learning.

£      Establish classroom rules and activities related to privacy, safety, security, appropriate access, and implementation of district/school acceptable use policy.

£      Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the legal, ethical and appropriate use of WWW resources

£      Demonstrate awareness of issues concerning authenticity, reliability, and bias of data gathered

 

Required Products:

£      Effective use of search tools during Academy sessions

£      Evidence (in Unit of Study) of connection between WWW resources, curriculum content and assessments for specific student populations.
