Welcome to 4th Grade!

I'm so excited for our new school year!!!  :)  I'm looking forward to teaching your children and watching them as they get excited about learning.  I love to see the look on their faces as they gain an understanding of the material taught.

We will be doing many "hands-on" activities, oral individual and group presentations as well as textbook exercises.

  • I will be entering my students in two different poetry contests this year. They will be in the Fall and in the Spring.
  • We will be learning many different kinds of poetry that they will using in the contests.
  • The fourth graders attend the Sioux Empire Water Festival in March.  We will study the water unit to get fully prepared then go to the University of Sioux Falls campus on our assigned day to participate in some very fun activities, including the Quiz Bowl.
  • The Wax Museum is held after studying  South Dakota History.  The students will choose a famous South Dakota person to    represent.  They will do research then present it in May to the elementary grades, parents, and other school personnel who are interested.
  • The Student of the Day program is held in the Spring.  Each student will have a day of his/her own to share information that is important to them.
